I got my Fatman kit in the mail yesterday. I’ve gotta say overall this looks like a much easier project than my midibox sid, although I’m sure once complete they will play together nicely. I’ve got no protoboards to solder with this kit, where as that’s all that is keeping me from completion with my MB sid. The control surface on that thing is a hell of alot of work.

I’m thinking a cherry finish on the wood paneling will look great. It’ll really look good with the wood that I bought for it, which is some nice laminated pine. With a cherry finish I’ll have to get some different knobs though as the blue that came in the kit just won’t match. They have some old school looking knobs at the shack that will fit the look I want. Some big fat silver ’70s looking knobs will match perfectly.
